Anaconda

Size: Adult anacondas average 20 feet in lenght. The largest anaconda found was 29.5 feet long!
Habitat: Swamps and slow moving rivers throughout tropical South America.
Diet: Fish, reptiles, mammals, and birds. Larger anacondas can even eat caiman, capybara, or small deer.

Are anacondas dangerous?
There are many myths and stories that depict anacondas as 'man-eaters', but anacondas are not 'man-eaters' by nature. They are generalists and will take any prey they can subdue and swallow.

Are there monster-sized anacondas?
In 1910, President Roosevelt offered a reward of $1,000 dollars for a live snake measuring over 30 feet. Over the years the reward was raised to $50,000 dollars. The Wildlife Conservation Society offers a reward for anyone who can find a snake measuring over 30 feet that to this day remains uncollected. Anacondas to not stop growing so there could be larger snakes still hidden deep in the Amazon...
