Husbandry Specialist

The Husbandry Specialist is responsible for assisting the Animal Husbandry Team in the daily care of the various animal species at the LLPA. Daily responsibilities include food preparation, cleaning food preparation areas and axhibits, and maintenance of the aquarium exhibits. The Husbandry Specialist may be assigned to a specific husbandry team to assist (Salt Water, Fresh Water, Horticulture, etc.).


The applicant must be at least 18 years of age, completed 60 hours as an Exhibit Interpreter, and currently enrolled as a senior in high school or high school graduate. The Husbandry Specialist must be able to attend all training related to position. The Husbandry Specialist must commit one full day shift or two half day shifts per month as designated by the Volunteer Services Manager for a minimum of one year.
